Re: The POSITIVES of going out of the Europa League
I think we'll do better out of Europe. Its a shame but that's what I think. Too many teams have strughled with thursday night footy.

List your negatives
Players like Batshuyai won't join us now as they insist on Euro football?

I'd love to win every game and every competition we enter but I still think our chances of a 'successful' season have been enhanced
If we drop off our league position and bomb out of the domestic Cups however Bilic should have a case to answer.
The early start to the Europa means that realistically the players already at the club should get you through rather than new arrivals. Injuries to Payet, Lanzini etc have been unfortunate but we still should have had enough to beat some Romanians

Re: The POSITIVES of going out of the Europa League
If you're going to take part in these competitions you have to intend on winning them. The teams in the later stages are usually Spanish, English, Italian side who have a shot at winning it. In order to do that, whilst still maintaining good league form, you have to have a great starting 11 who stay fit and in form and then decent back in most positions. Which is tough because decent players don't always want to play second fiddle.

We had a pretty strong team out with quite a few who will be in the starting 11 each week and just a couple of second stringers. And that still wasn't good enough at this stage, let alone later on.

We only got here due to how we played in the first 3 quarters of the season (bar the help from Man Utd winning the cup). And some might argue a lot of those wins against the bigger clubs were due to the fact they had poor seasons themselves. It was an opportunity that I don't think we will get this year. And sadly that might mean another season of not attracting the players we need to push on and worse still, lose the better players we have now.

I don't think we were ready for this comp (again). We won't get marquee signings to take us to the next level if we don't make a success of what we have now. That means finding the odd bargain wonders but most of all, having the squad of players we have now working together, knowing what theyre doing, being organised and disciplined, feeling some pride in wearing the shirt. All of which is slightly questionable at the moment.

I'm not to fussed that we've been knocked out of this. More games on Saturdays at 3pm is a bonus.
They should go back to the old format and let it be a knock out competition.

I reckon is under a bit of pressure to do well in the cups now... No excuses for not finishing in top 8 with the squad he has!!!

Re: The POSITIVES of going out of the Europa League
The negatives completely outweigh the pointless positives that our brought up every time we get knocked out of a cup or are relegated from the league. The whole point in entering any competition is to do as well as we can.

I can't stand threads like this.

Re: The POSITIVES of going out of the Europa League
The draw would not have been the same had we been in it. That's a basic philosophical truth.

There are no positives. A massive disappointment. The Europe League draw is now on live. We should be there as it would have raised our profile again.

Well we've had long enough to get ready. We've played these cunts four times, n'all.

Maybe we'll be ready next year......

Re: The POSITIVES of going out of the Europa League
There are no positives. It was embarrassing. The big problem for me is the acedemy. I keep going on about this but the coaches there aren't doing their jobs. If they had kids pushing hard for a start cause they are ready, those senior pros are gonna work a lot harder to keep their place. They've no pressure on them and that's a problem.

But they kids aren't progressing. The coaching setup appear not be able to identify and coach 'em up to the needed standard. And if they can't do that, they need to be sacked and replaced by a staff that can.

It's fucking business at the end of the day and if you ain't getting it done, you should get sacked.

Re: The POSITIVES of going out of the Europa League
there is no positives imo

its a fucking shambles

burke, oxford and fletcher should have been getting some valuable playing time in this competition

the relief when the result went our way in the cup last year as it give us a lifeline then we mess up against a load of shit from Romania

I thought sleeping on it would make me better but I'm fucking fuming

the senior players that played last night owe us a good performance if they get selected sunday

There's always a positive- the one here is went out of a competition we're clearly not ready for at the earliest opportunity.

Re: The POSITIVES of going out of the Europa League
No positives, for me.

We have bought plenty this summer, if hardly who we were dreaming, and quite a few players expectant of European competition.

Keeping all the players happy is now going to be a TOUGH job for Bilic when our new march to HISTORY includes must-win matches on a wet Tuesday in Doncaster etc. Because I honestly don't see us making Top 4 in Prem this season.

Last night /away was a major stumble in long-term plans any way you look at it. A lot of squad additions seemed to be based on the notion of us being a European football force in 2017. And it's already over.
